Where did the name "The Psychedelic Furs" come from?

Well in an era in England when most of the bands had pretty hard aggressive names like Sex Pistols, Clash and Stranglers...we wanted something that would stand a bit apart. We also wanted to pay homage to the bands of the psychedelic era that we admired, such as the Velvet Underground and Love, so "Psychedelic" sounded like a good start. "Furs" was just something we and maybe the beer we were drinking all agreed on.

Why don't you play in Europe?

Actually, we've been to Europe the last three years in a row.  We hope to do a little more each time.

Which was the first tour that Paul Garisto played with the Furs on?

Mirror Moves tour. 84-85.

Where do all of the original band members live these days?

Richard, Tim and John are in the US.  Roger and Vince are both in the
UK, and Duncan is in Australia.

Richard, which is your personal favorite Furs album?

Talk Talk Talk.

Tim, what is something that we typically don't hear you say ?

That I think "Midnight To Midnight" is a lot better than we ever gave it credit for. 

How long has Mars been associated with the band?

Mars first appeared with the Furs in 1984.  So, 27 years.

Will there ever be a new Furs album?

Yes.    Don't know when...but it's definitely in the cards.

Is it possible to find the Furs' albums on vinyl?

Yes!!!   Very soon the albums will once again be released on vinyl.  Watch for details.
